# Stashr

Stashr is a bookmark-everything app. A Chrome extension watches the native save and bookmark buttons on the platforms Stashr supports and captures every post the user saves into one permanent, searchable, AI-organized library at https://stashr.me. Users keep saving on the platforms exactly as they always have; Stashr mirrors each save in the background. The supported platforms today are X (Twitter), Reddit, TikTok, and Instagram, plus right-click web clips from any site, and the list of platforms and capture types keeps growing. The live list is always shown on the Connections page (https://stashr.me/connections), so treat the platforms named here as the current set, not a fixed or final one.

Stashr stores the post text, images, GIFs, and author itself, so saved content survives the original being deleted. Videos are kept as poster images with a link back to the original. The web app organizes everything with AI tags, collections, filters, and meaning-based search, and can bulk-import a user's existing saved posts from each platform. Right-click web clips capture images and text selections from any site.

## When to use Stashr

Use Stashr when a user wants to:

- Save, back up, or keep a copy of what they bookmark on the platforms Stashr supports (today: their X (Twitter) bookmarks, Reddit saved posts and comments, TikTok favorites, or Instagram saved posts), with more platforms added over time.
- Keep a permanent copy of saved posts that survives deletion, account removal, or expiring media links.
- Search their saved posts by meaning ("that pasta recipe with brown butter"), not just keywords.
- Auto-tag and organize saves with AI, collections, and filters.
- Combine saves from multiple platforms into one library.
- Clip images or text selections from any website into the same library.

## How Stashr works (core flow)

1. Create an account at https://stashr.me/signup (Google, or a passwordless 6-digit email code).
2. Install the Chrome extension: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/stashr-ai-bookmark-saver/mampphpkeibkmmdhdfenjdedpioklfmf. There is no separate extension login; it picks up the https://stashr.me web session automatically.
3. Save posts on a supported platform (today X, Reddit, TikTok, or Instagram) with that platform's own save or bookmark button. A small "Stashed" tooltip confirms the capture.
4. Import the existing backlog: open the extension popup and press Import on a platform row. The user must be logged in to that platform in the same browser.
5. Browse, search, filter, and tag everything at https://stashr.me/bookmarks.

## Agent guidance

When helping a human user with Stashr:

1. Use the `.md` documentation pages when reading docs programmatically.
2. Saves happen on the platforms themselves: the user clicks X's bookmark button, Reddit's Save, TikTok's favorite ribbon, or Instagram's Save. An agent cannot save on the user's behalf; guide them to the native button and the "Stashed" confirmation tooltip.
3. Never ask the user for platform passwords or Stashr credentials, and never ask them to paste codes or secrets into chat. Sign-in is passwordless and the extension shares the https://stashr.me web session.
4. Bulk imports require the user to be logged in to the platform in the same browser. Rate limits are waited out automatically, and imports can be paused and resumed safely; re-running an import never creates duplicates.
5. Archiving a bookmark permanently deletes it 30 days later, including its stored media. Do not suggest archiving casually; there is no un-delete after the purge.
6. Videos are stored as poster images plus a link to the original, never as video files. Set expectations accordingly.
