Stashr now saves your LinkedIn posts

LinkedIn support is live in Stashr. Import the posts you've already saved, capture new saves as you make them, and search them all in plain English.

Stashr now saves your LinkedIn posts

LinkedIn's Saved posts list is where good advice goes to be forgotten. You save the hiring thread, the pricing breakdown, the carousel you swore you'd read properly, and a few months later it's buried in a list you can't search, or the author has deleted it. Starting today, Stashr can keep a real copy of the posts you save.

What's new

LinkedIn joins X, Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, GitHub, and Hacker News as a platform the Stashr extension captures from. There are two parts, and they work together:

  • Import your saved posts. Stashr reads your Saved posts list and copies it into your library, newest save first. Run it again any time and it only adds what's new.
  • Capture new saves. Once LinkedIn is turned on, choosing Save from a post's ••• menu is captured on the spot. A small "Stashed" tooltip confirms it. Unsave the post, from the feed or your Saved posts page, and it leaves your library too.

From there, LinkedIn saves get the same plain-English search as everything else in Stashr, plus AI auto-tagging on Pro and during the trial. Search "that post about pricing a consulting offer" and it finds the post, even if you never filed it in a collection.

What Stashr keeps from each save

LinkedIn's saved list is built for skimming, and it only carries the first image of each post. Stashr fetches the full post, so you keep the parts you'd actually miss:

What you savedWhat Stashr keeps
Text postsFull text, with tagged people and companies linked, plus hashtags, links, and the author (a person or a company page)
Multi-image postsEvery image, stored by Stashr, not just the first
Video postsThe text and a poster image, with a link back to the post
RepostsThe repost, with the original post shown inside it as a quote
Articles and links in a postThe post's text and a link back
Document carousels and pollsTheir text, plus a preview image when they come in through an import

What it leaves out

Saved jobs and LinkedIn Learning courses aren't imported. Videos play from LinkedIn, and an article's full body isn't copied. Reaction and comment counts aren't captured. Imported saves keep the order of your Saved posts list rather than an exact save date. An article you save from its own page, rather than from your feed, may not come through. And a post already deleted before you imported it can't be brought back, which is the best reason to turn LinkedIn on sooner rather than later.

Capture works in your browser. Saves you make in the LinkedIn mobile app come in the next time you run the import, but unsaves made there don't reach Stashr, so remove those bookmarks yourself.

How to turn on LinkedIn

LinkedIn is off until you allow it. If you decline, nothing else changes.

  1. Install the extension and sign in at stashr.me. The install docs walk through it.
  2. Log in to LinkedIn in that same browser. Stashr uses your own logged-in session, so there's no separate LinkedIn login to manage.
  3. Click Turn on. In the extension popup, or on the LinkedIn card on your Connections page, click Turn on. A Stashr tab opens: click Allow access, then allow it in your browser's prompt. Stashr only asks for access to www.linkedin.com and media.licdn.com (where LinkedIn serves its images) when you choose to connect it.
  4. Let the import run. It starts on its own once you allow access. The extension uses a LinkedIn tab, or opens one in the background, and works through your Saved posts a page at a time with short pauses. You can keep using your browser, and pause and resume whenever you like.
  5. Keep saving the way you already do. New saves from the ••• menu are captured as you make them.

The browser's prompt says Stashr can "read and change" your data on those sites, which is how browsers word site access. Stashr only reads, and never posts, reacts, or comments for you. The Saving from LinkedIn doc has the full details.

New to LinkedIn's saved posts?

A LinkedIn save is a pointer: when the author deletes the post or their account, your entry leads nowhere. Our LinkedIn saved posts guide covers where saves live, how to unsave, and what LinkedIn's data export includes. See Stashr for LinkedIn for how it fits with the rest of your library, or Stashr vs LinkedIn saved posts for a side-by-side.

Common questions

Does Stashr need my LinkedIn password?

No. The extension works inside your own logged-in LinkedIn session. Stashr never sees or stores your LinkedIn password.

Why do I have to turn LinkedIn on?

Because LinkedIn access is opt-in. Stashr doesn't get access to LinkedIn until you click Turn on and allow it, and adding LinkedIn doesn't affect the rest of the extension if you never do.

Does it change anything on my LinkedIn account?

No. The import reads your Saved posts list and leaves it as it is, and Stashr never posts, reacts, or comments for you.

Can I turn LinkedIn capture off?

Yes. The LinkedIn card on your Connections page has a capture switch, and the same switch lives in the extension's options. Turning it off stops new captures and imports without touching what's already in your library.
