Saving from LinkedIn

Save a post on LinkedIn and Stashr captures it, with the full text, every image, and the author, copied before LinkedIn's links expire.

Stashr watches LinkedIn's own Save option, in the ••• menu on every post. Save a post or an article from your feed and it lands in your Stashr library. Stashr captures saved posts only; saved jobs and LinkedIn Learning courses are not imported.

Turning on LinkedIn

LinkedIn is off until you allow it, so adding it never interrupts the rest of the extension.

  1. Click Turn on

In the extension popup, click Turn on next to LinkedIn. You can also press Turn on on the LinkedIn card on the Connections page.

  2. Allow access

A Stashr tab opens. Click Allow access, then Allow in Chrome's prompt. Chrome asks to "read and change your data" on www.linkedin.com and media.licdn.com, where LinkedIn serves its images. Stashr only reads those pages and never posts anything for you.

  3. Your saved posts come in

Stashr starts importing the posts you have already saved, and from then on captures every new save.

If you decline, nothing else changes, and LinkedIn stays off until you click Turn on again.

Saving a post

  1. Open the post's ••• menu

Click ••• in the top-right corner of a post in your feed.

  2. Click Save

Choose Save. A small "Stashed" tooltip appears next to the menu for a second. If the capture failed, it says "Failed" in red; the post is still saved on LinkedIn either way.

  3. Find it in your library

The post appears in your bookmarks. If AI tagging is on, tags follow shortly after.

Choosing Unsave from the same menu removes the post from Stashr too, and the tooltip shows "Unstashed". The same goes for unsaving a post on your Saved posts page.

Unsaving on another device

Stashr sees unsaves made in a browser where it is installed. If you unsave a post somewhere else, such as the LinkedIn mobile app, remove the bookmark in Stashr too.

What gets captured

  • The full post text, with tagged people and companies linked, plus hashtags and links.
  • The author, whether a person or a company page.
  • Images, every one in a multi-image post, stored by Stashr.
  • Videos: the poster frame only, with a link back to the original for playback. The video file is never stored.
  • Reposts: the original post is shown inside your bookmark as a quote.
  • Articles and links shared in a post: the post's text and a link back. The article's full body is not copied.
  • Document (PDF) carousels and polls: their text. A preview image comes through on import, not on a live save.

Reaction and comment counts are not captured. An article you save from its own page, rather than from your feed, may not come through. The full breakdown is in What gets saved.

Why storing matters here

LinkedIn's image links expire within weeks, and when an author deletes a post, its entry in your Saved posts becomes a dead link. Stashr copies the text and images at save time, so your copy keeps working either way.

Importing your LinkedIn saved posts

Press Import on the LinkedIn row in the extension popup (or Turn on, the first time). Stashr uses a LinkedIn tab, or opens one in the background, and pages through your Saved posts using LinkedIn's own requests. There is no scrolling needed, and you can keep using the browser. You must be logged in to LinkedIn in the same browser.

Why keep LinkedIn saves in Stashr

LinkedIn's Saved posts page has no search, folders, or tags. In Stashr your saved posts get search by words and meaning, AI tags, and collections, and your AI tools can reach them through MCP.

Troubleshooting

  • Saves don't show "Stashed". Check that LinkedIn is turned on in the extension popup, then reload any LinkedIn tabs that were open before you turned it on.
  • The import pauses. Make sure you are logged in to LinkedIn in the same browser, then press Resume.
