Saving from Facebook

Import your Facebook Saved items and capture new saves from your feed: posts, photos, Reels, Marketplace listings, and events, with their text and photos stored.

Stashr brings in your Facebook Saved items two ways: a full import of everything already in your Saved list, and real-time capture of the posts you save from your feed. You must be logged in to Facebook in the same browser.

Turning on Facebook

Facebook is off until you allow it. The extension only asks for access to facebook.com when you want it, so there's a one-time step first.

  1. Click Turn on

In the extension popup, click Turn on next to Facebook. You can also press Turn on on the Facebook card on the Connections page.

  2. Allow access

A Stashr tab opens. Click Allow access, then Allow when Chrome asks to read facebook.com. Stashr only reads those pages and never posts anything for you.

  3. Your first import starts

Stashr opens your Saved page in its own tab and starts bringing your saved items in.

If you decline, nothing else changes, and Facebook stays off until you click Turn on again.

Saving a post

  1. Save from your feed

Open the ⋯ menu on a post, photo, video, or Reel in your feed and choose Save.

  2. Look for the confirmation

A small "Stashed" tooltip appears for a second. If something goes wrong, it says "Failed" in red instead, and your next import picks up anything still in your Saved list.

  3. Find it in your library

The post appears in your bookmarks. If AI tagging is on, tags follow shortly after.

Unsaving a post from your feed removes it from Stashr too. The tooltip shows "Unstashed" to confirm.

Saves made outside the feed

Saves you make in the Reel player, on a Marketplace listing page, or on an event page aren't captured instantly. They come in the next time you press Import, along with any other save that wasn't caught live.

What gets captured

  • Posts: the full text, the photos, the author, the group, and the post date. Imports get the largest photos Facebook offers; saves from your feed use the size your feed loaded.
  • Marketplace listings: the price, description, location, sold status, and all photos.
  • Events: the name, the date and time as Facebook shows it, the venue, the description, and the cover image.
  • Reels and videos: the poster image, caption, and length, plus the creator when Facebook includes it, with a link back to the original for playback. The video file is never stored.
  • Events shared inside a post: the card's title and link.
  • Collections: the names of the Facebook collections an item is in, kept as a label on the save. Your collections aren't recreated as Stashr collections.

Facebook doesn't expose when you saved an item, so imported items keep the order of your Saved list rather than an exact save date.

Importing your Facebook saves

Press Import on the Facebook row in the extension popup (or Turn on, the first time). Stashr opens its own facebook.com/saved tab and pages through your Saved list using your Facebook session. There is no scrolling needed. Posts, listings, and events are then filled in one at a time with their full text and photos, so a large Saved list takes a little while. If Facebook stops answering partway, the remaining items keep the preview from your Saved list.

Content that's already gone

Stashr copies what Facebook still shows when you import. Saves that already say "This content isn't available" can't be recovered. Once an item is in Stashr, though, your copy survives the original being deleted.
