Web clips

Save an image or a text selection from any website into your Stashr library.

Web clips let you save from any website, not just the platforms Stashr supports directly. You use Chrome's right-click menu, and the result becomes a bookmark with the platform "Web" in your library.

The two menu items

On any http or https page, right-click to find:

  • Save image to Stashr: right-click an image
  • Save selection to Stashr: right-click selected text

You must be signed in. If you are not, a "Sign in to Stashr first" toast appears.

Saving an image

  1. Right-click the image

    Choose Save image to Stashr.

  2. Grant access on first use

The first time, Chrome prompts once for broader site access. If you decline, image saving still works on many sites but not all.

  3. Look for the toast

A "Saved to Stashr" toast appears in the top right for a couple of seconds.

Stashr copies the image file to its own storage. If the image cannot be fetched, nothing is saved, so you never get broken clips.

Image limits and errors

Errors appear as a small toast in the top right of the page:

MessageMeaning
Image is too large to save (20 MB max)The image is over the 20 MB limit
That link isn't an imageThe target is not an image
This image can't be savedStashr could not save this image
Stashr needs page access to save this imageGrant the site access and try again

Saving a selection

Select text on the page, right-click, and choose Save selection to Stashr. The selected text is saved as a bookmark.

Restricted pages

On restricted pages like Chrome's own pages or PDFs, the confirmation toast may not appear, but the save still goes through.

Web clip cards

In your library, web clip cards show the capture date and link back to the source page.
