Saving from Reddit
Save a post or comment on Reddit and Stashr mirrors it into your library, including polls, galleries, and crossposts.
Stashr watches Reddit's own Save action. Save a post or comment on Reddit and it lands in your Stashr library. Real-time capture works on new Reddit (reddit.com). If you browse on old Reddit (old.reddit.com), those saves are not captured live, but they still come in when you run an import, which reads your saved history regardless of which Reddit you use.
Saving a post
Open the overflow menu
Click the "..." menu on any post or comment.
Choose Save
Click Save. Stashr mirrors the action for you.
Look for the confirmation
A small "Stashed" tooltip appears near the menu you clicked. If the capture failed, it says "Failed" in red; the item is still saved on Reddit either way.
Find it in your library
The post or comment appears in your bookmarks. If AI tagging is on, tags follow shortly after.
Unsaving on Reddit removes the item from Stashr too. The tooltip shows "Unstashed" to confirm.
Comments are first-class
Both posts and comments are captured. A saved comment becomes a full bookmark in your library, just like a post.
What gets captured
- Full text with Reddit formatting, including spoilers, tables, code, and superscript.
- Images and galleries, stored by Stashr so they survive the original being deleted.
- External link posts, with the link they point to.
- Crossposts, with a "reposted from r/..." context line.
- Polls, shown as an option list.
- Videos: the poster image only. The video file is never stored; the bookmark links back to the original for playback.
Deleted or removed posts (marked "[deleted]" or "[removed]") are skipped, because there is nothing left to capture.
Importing your Reddit saves
Press Import on the Reddit row in the extension popup. Stashr fetches your saved listing directly using your Reddit session. No tab opens and nothing scrolls. You must be logged in to Reddit.
Platform limit
Reddit only exposes roughly your most recent 1,000 saved items. When the import reaches that cap, the row shows "Up to date (platform limit ~1000)". Everything Reddit exposes is imported; older saves beyond the cap are not reachable.
